Food, Not Lawns
Food Not Lawns was founded in 1999 by a group of Food Not Bombs activists in Eugene, Oregon. In 2006, a co-founder of the group, Heather Jo Flores, published her book, Food Not Lawns, How to Turn your Yard into a Garden and Your Neighborhood into a Community. Now, with over 50 chapters worldwide, we are a global community of avant gardeners, working together to grow and share food, seeds, skills and resources. Here's a fun historical timeline (it's a work in progress!)
